    To miss out

    Dear Teacher,
I am still experiencing difficulties using the expression "to miss out".
    Is it appropriate to say:
"Students should not miss out this next lecture in Economics" ?

    Thank you

No, "miss out" is incorrect, use "miss".

    Re: To miss out

    Thank you,
Would it then be appropriate to say:
"Students should not miss out on this next lecture on Economics"

    Also use of correct preposition:
    Should we say
    a) a lecture in Economics, or,
    b) a lecture on Economics
