Need help with expository descriptive essay..

I have to write an expository descriptive essay on a particular character in a movie.

I'm stuck on the introductory paragraph. Do I start by writing something about the movie itself and then lead into the character and her characteristics?

Like:

Movie Name was filmed and released in 1995. It has two main characters. One of the main characters is named X.

Any ideas? If I could figure out my intro then I think I can get the rest.
