    Default I won't be long.

    Hi,

What does "I won't be long" mean in this sentence?

I won't be long; the better half of this job is complete.

    Thanks a lot

    Hi SilverO.
It means "In a short time I will be finished, most of the job is done".

    Not a teacher.

Note that we cannot say, 'I will be long'.

We have to find some alternative such as 'This will take some time /a long time'.
