    Default high-powered meetings

I am reading someone's impressions from "high-powered government meetings" he attended. What does "high-powered meeting" mean?

It's a meeting attended by people of influence. 'High-powered' can also refer to intellectual abilities, so I suppose the meeting might have been attended by great intellects - it all depends on context.
