Is there a "final answer" for whether or not to use a comma when wishing someone "happy birthday"? I always use a comma, however, I find that many people do not. I really try to alway use correct grammar, and this is now beginning to bug me tremendously. Admittedly, I am somewhat OCD. :smilecol:
Thanks!
1. Happy Birthday Kim!
2. Happy Birthday, Kim!

I suppose there should be one, but I don't think anybody is really going to slit their wrists over a missing comma in a birthday greeting.

Except, perhaps, people who suffer from OCD.;-)

Welcome to the board, Mimi.

Use a comma yourself, pour encourager les autres, but don't get uptight about not receiving one in return.

Life's too short.
