Hello everybody,

I need some help with the use of Present Perfect over specified number of repetitions.

"Ever since we have played football every day."
"Ever since we have been playing football every day."

Why isn't the second sentence correct since it specifies duration (they have been doing so - every day - up to now.) ???....

Thanks in advance

Hello everybody,

"Ever since we have played football every day."

Neither one is correct because they are not sentences.
The easiest way to make them correct sentences is to add a comma after "since".

"Ever since, we have played football every day."
"Ever since, we have been playing football every day."

Is that the meaning you want to express?
