    I looked it up in English-English dictionaries, but the difference is still not clear to me(( Could you help me, please?

    Hi,
    When something affects something or someone they will change in some way. It seems to me that influence has more of a long-lasting effect on the way someone thinks or something develops.

    Hope others will comment on this.

    I am not a teacher.

    "Affect" is the general word. To influence is to affect in a particular way, to subtly contribute motivation in a particular direction.
