    Default Sentences Feb 24

    Hi,

Are the following sentences natural to native ear?

    1. I just came from inside, I didnít walk outside. ( I walked underground to reach here)

    2. As multi cultural as this city is , a few new people would hardly be noticed.

    3. When was the film set?

    Thanks,

    MG.

The 'as...as...is' expression suggests that some form of contrasting idea will follow, so your sentence is not natural to me. I would expect:
'As multi-cultural as this city is, some new people still stand out' (a different message) or:
'As this city is so muti-cultural, a few new people would hardly be noticed' ( a similar message to the one you intended).

    3. When was the film set?' Fine.
    .
Your first sentence does not sound quite right to me, but I can't think of any suggestions at the moment.

    I am not a teacher.

That doesn't work. Maybe, "I stayed inside the whole way [over here]."
