Please, check if the following passage is grammatically correct. Thanks

Although country A suffers from many social and economic problems, the economic situation in this country is not as difficult as in country B. For instance, in the streets of capital B shocking scenes of homeless people or starving people are common, while in the streets of capital A such scenes are rare. Class differences in country A are also not as acute as in country B. Unlike country B, which for almost forty years has undergone processes of privatization and free economy, the economy of country A was and is still a socialist economy controlled by the authorities. In this economy there are no large gaps between rich and poor.

    I'd say it's OK.

Although country A suffers from many social and economic problems, the economic situation is not as difficult as in country B. For instance, in the capital city of B, one commonly sees shocking scenes of homeless or starving people, while in the streets of capital A, such scenes are rare. Class differences in country A are not as acute as in country B. Unlike country B, which for almost forty years has undergone processes to develop privatization and free-economy, the economy of country A was, and still is, a socialist one, controlled by the authorities. In this economy there are no large gaps between the rich and poor.
