Question How does it 'feel' or 'feels'?

    Hello everyone,

As I was writing in Microsoft Word it marked "how does it feel" in green, but not when I made it into "how does it feels". I thought the first one was right because the verb is after does, so I wonder which one is correct?!

    Thanks in advance!

You're right. Big Bill isn't always!

But before assuming Word got it wrong, look at the reason for the green line - red = 'wrong' and green = questionable writing (either dubious grammar or bad style). Point the cursor at the underlined word and right-click; it often says something like 'Fragment, consider revising'. (This is my most common green-line offence; I usually do consider it, don't do it, and move on )

In your case I suspect you may have written quite a long sentence after 'How does it feel'; Word doesn't like long sentences (and it really hates it when it's anthropomorphized).

Thanks a lot for your help, I did make the right click, it says it's the grammar that's not correct, and it suggests "it feels" so I think it only made consideration of the verb being after 'it' not after 'does'.

Anyway, I'll keep it as "how does it feel".
Thanks again, I appreciate it :)

"how does it feel" is wrong for two reasons. It should have a capital letter, and it should have a question mark. If you type "How does it feel?" Word (my version, at least) does not flag it as wrong. It also depends on what you've written before 'how' and after 'feel'.
