Question to or in order to

    Hi,
    I'm new.
    I have a doubt.
    In the following sentence
"In the scenario depicted above the most efficient and affordable irrigation technique has to be chosen to optimize water consumption and to guarantee the necessary soil water stock for crop requirements."
    should I say
in order to optimize ... and to guarantee ...
    or
to optimize ... and to guarantee ...

    Thank you in advance.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
You can use "in order to" for this sentence, however, it's just optional.
I learned that it's better to use "in order to" when you start a sentence or a specific part of a sentence.

We go to school (in order) to learn something.

Re: to or in order to

    I would say:

    In the scenario depicted above,
the most efficient and affordable irrigation technique
    has to be chosen
in order to optimize water consumption
    and
guarantee the necessary soil water stock for crop requirements."

    or

    In the scenario depicted above,
the most efficient and affordable irrigation technique
    has to be chosen
    so that
    water consumption is optimized
    and
necessary soil water stock for crop requirements is guaranteed.
