    Hello

    which one is correct?

    Could you do me a favor. Please tell Mary that I say Hello

    Or

    Could you do me a favor. Please tell Mary that I said Hello

    As a NES but not a teacher, I would use the second option:
    "Could you do me a favor. Please tell Mary that I said Hello."

    Two comments.
    "Favor" is the US spelling vs "favour" in UK.
    They will tell Mary after you told them to say Hello to her. Hence I would personally use the past tense.
    Teachers can give a definitive response.

    One doesn't need to be a teacher for that. Your response is the natural one.

    I'm a tad wary of giving a definitive answer in such tense cases, and would normally have left the reply to a teacher.

    Just one further scenario: my daughter's on the phone to her uncle; I interrupt with 'Tell Malcolm dad says hello'.
