    Default difficult structure

    Dear all,

    What is the meaning of

1- It takes a lot of confidece.

    2- grand statement of...

    in this the following context:

"I think a room like this takes a lot of confidence. It's a grand statement of where you're going to get dressed in the morning or take your bath."

How can a room takes a lot of confidence? and how it's a grand statement of where you get dressed?????

Don't take everything literally, feel free to interpret the text. Just try!

    Example:

Having a room like that says a lot of things about you and your behaviour, so you must be careful when you design it.

    Another example:

You must have a really good reason having that room designed like this. It represents you.

I got your point, but again I still can't get "takes a lot of confidence"? "confidence" here refers to who? the room or the person?

What do you think of this:

"Being in a room like this makes the one feel so confident. changing one's clothes in it or bathing in it in the morning will have an impact on their personality."

    What do you think?

I think that you must be very confident in your taste to have a room like that because it is so outrageous/luxurious/glitzy/ostentatious/daring that you will certainly receive a lot of criticism.
