    depth

    Which are correct:

1-I was standing in water two feet deep.
2-I was standing two feet deep in water.

3-I walked two feet deep in water.
4-I walked in water two feet deep.
(MEANING A: I walked in water that had a depth of two feet.)

5-I walked two feet deep into water.
6-I walked into water two feet deep.
(MEANING: B: I advanced until the water was two feet deep.)

I think "6" implies that I entered water that was two feet deep (from zero to two in one step).
    I think "3" could mean "B".

...2-I was standing two feet deep in water. Possible
    ...
    - especially when the depth is extreme: 'We were standing up to our eyes in freezing water.'
