    PALL AROUND

    Humala, who oncepalled around with Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez, has campaigned on a platform of renegotiating trade agreements and taxing windfall profits from miners. The metals trade accounts for the bulk of Peruís exports.

    this is an extract from CNBC website...can you help with the meaning of PALLED AROUND in this context.

    Regards

    Re: PALL AROUND

    You pal (one L) around with someone by spending time with them, considering that person your friend. This means they have a history of friendly relations.

    Pal=buddy=friend.
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
