    Grammar

    Hi,

    I made him do it/ I got him to do it= OK

    A I should have made him do it= OK


    B I should have made him to do it

    Is it possible to use B??

    I am not an English teacher but I can comment.

    B is not correct.

    Although you could say:

    B I should have gotten him to do it.

    I have the impression that "make" can only be followed by "to" in passive voice. Is this correct?

    He was made to do it.


    I'll come back if further reflection makes me modify that answer.

    Uh-oh. Re-thought. I made them (these ginger cakes) (in order) to (be able to) exhibit (them) at the agricultural show.
