Children today are too dependent on computers and electronic
entertainment. It would be better for them to be outside playing sports and taking part in more traditional pastimes than spending all day indoors. Do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Nowadays, children spend too much time on computer and other media rather than physical activities. I agree with the idea that physical activities and other outdoor games are necessary for children’s health. However, usage of computers and other electronic entertainments is unavoidable and despite it’s drawbacks there are lots of benefits.
With today’s advancement of technology, computers, televisions and other electronic devices have been become useful tools for children’s learning. For instance, some parents encourage their child to use educational softwares or television programs in order to improve performance of learning process. Moreover, these days, watching television and playing computer games are most popular entertainments for children which make maximum use of their leisure time in a enjoyable way. Furthermore, by using computers and other equipments, children build positive attitudes toward technology that will pay dividends for the rest of their lives.
On the other hand, spending long time in front of computer or television is harmful fir children’s health and this would lea to common physical side effects such as eyestrain, headaches and obesity. Whereas, physical activities are beneficial for children and they must be encouraged to play outdoor games such as football, basketball and swimming which are essential in the growing up years. In addition, children who are engaged about group activities tend to the solitary nature of electronic entertainments. In contrast, outdoor games played in a group often give children the opportunity to improve social interaction. As well, it is a reality that children are always full of energy and they need somehow to release their energy throughout the day. Physical activities and outdoor games are ideal for this purpose rather than indoor games.
In conclusion, I think that, sport and Physical activities are essential for children and should not be ignored. Although, Balanced use of computers and useful electronic gadgets could be helpful too.
