Labor Day is a national holiday in many countries. It is celebrated on different days in different countries. In Canada and America Labour day holiday is on the first Monday of September. Many years ago in Toronto union workers got together in a parade to reduce their weekly work hours . In 1882 a parade was held in New York city on September fifth. On that day New York workers demanded for an eight- hour work shift. Later on this idea spread in other states in USA. Finally, in 1892 congress voted it a national holiday. In America" Labor Day" is also a celebration of end of summer session. Now a days it is a celebration of a holiday. Labor Day Celebration shows a great respect to working class people.
