We don't usually write 'alot' as one word. So 'a lot' and 'lots of' it's all the same! You can say 'loads' too ;-)

It is incorrect to write alot as one word.

'. . .a lot of' and 'lots of' mean the same.

Dive into English, please state that you are not a teacher.
