Please can you help me in how to improve my writing because most of the time I use the same vocabulary. So what do you suggest to get better?
    Thanks,

    (1) That old saying is really true: Practice makes perfect.

    (a) Write something every day. (A paragraph of only four or five

    sentences.)

    (b) Read something every day. You will notice new words that

you will want to use in your own writing. (Remember that English

has the largest vocabulary of any other language.)

    (c) Every week, post some of your writing in the writing forum.

Outstanding teachers will be delighted to correct your writing.

    BEST OF LUCK

Cool I like your ideas. I will try to write different subjects each week.

But don't forget the second part of TheParser's excellent advice. Reading is very, very important!

IMO, the only way to learn to speak is to speak, and the only way to learn how to write is to write. If you feel you lack vocabulary, try expanding it. If I were in the US, I'd seize every opportunity to learn new words and expressions and, which is also important, how to use them. Reading books/magazines, listening to the radio, watching TV/movies and enrolling on a writing course are some good ways to broaden and refine your skills. In a nutshell, expose yourself to as much authentic English as possible. The process of learning shouldn't be passive though; you and your skills will benefit from writing down and memorizing collocations, fixed phrases, idioms and larger chunks of language. Set yourself a goal of using at least 3/4/5/... new words and expressions in every single piece of writing. Translating something from your native language into English could also enrich your vocabulary and boost your command of the language.
    Good luck!

And I hope you'll hear one day: "You have a magical way with words!"

I have a question that is off topic.

I would like to know whether the quoted sentence employs a safe structure that no one, even the most picky one, would consider incorrect. I have seen it before, but considered it colloquial. Would it be more correct (at least for some people) to write:

Remember that English has the largest vocabulary of all languages.

    or

Remember that English has a vocabulary larger than any other language.

    ?

    (1) You have asked a great question.

    (2) I, too, am eager to see what the teachers have to say.

    (3) This is a wonderful lesson for the thread starter, too.

As I said, practice makes perfect. If I have written an incorrect

sentence, then I want to know so that I can keep improving my

use of this magnificent instrument called the English language.

Actually, I do consider it incorrect. I did not feel in a picky enough mood to comment on it before.

Would it be more correct (at least for some people) to write:

Remember that English has the largest vocabulary of all languages. YES

Remember that English has the largest vocabulary than any other language.
    NO
    - Remember that English has a larger vocabulary than any other language.

I did think it a little odd that you would make a slip like that. It's a relief to see that I am not the only one to make mistakes this evening.
