Dear all,

In the Rob Thomson's "Little Wonders":

Let it go, let it roll right off your shoulder,
Don't you know, the hardest part is over, let it in,
Let your clarity define you in the end,
You will only just remember how it feels.

Our lives are made, in these small hours, these little wonders
These twisted turns of fate, time falls away,
But these small hours, these small hours, still remain.

Let it slide, let your troubles fall behind you, let it shine,
Till you feel it all around you,
And I don't mind, if it's me you need to turn to, we'll get by,
It's the heart that really matters in the end.

Our lives are made, in these small hours, these little wonders
These twisted turns of fate, time falls away,
But these small hours, these small hours, still remain.
All of my regret, will wash away somehow,
But I cannot forget the way I feel right now.
In these small hours, these little wonders, these twisted turns of fate,
All these twisted turns of fate, these twisted turns of fate
Yeah, times falls away
But these small hours, these small hours, still remain.
They still remain, these little wonders, all these twisted turns of fate
time falls away, but these small hours, these little wonders
Still remain.

I can't get the "exact" meaning of the following:

1- "let it in"
2- let your clarity defines you
3- "it" in the fourth line, what it refers to?
(I translated it as "you will only remember the extacy of success!". can that go?
4- I don't mind if it's me you need to turn to
(does it mean "I don't mind if you resorted to me to help you to move on"?)
5- It's the "heart" that really matters.
("heart" here means "intention"? or "kindness of heart" or what?)

Thanks a lot.

I've seen it and thought about it, but decided I have nothing useful to say. The language is poetic (if not drug-induced ;-))

I agree with ya. Can we just translate "let it in" as "enjoy your live" with regard to words coming after? Can that go by any means?

NOT A TEACHER!

You can say it that way.

Personally, because it is a song, it has different kind of meaning, so you have to be able to understand poetic well enough in order to fully translate the true meaning of a song.

However, in my opinion, I would say that
1- "let it in" -> It means that do not be too hard on yourself. Let loose a bit
2- let your clarity defines you -> Once you start to relax, you will be able to see things around more you more positively. That moment, you will also be able to learn about yourself
3- "it" in the fourth line, what it refers to? - It refers to the moment that you know well enough about yourself and how great it is to release all of the stress and negativity out.
(I translated it as "you will only remember the extacy of success!". can that go?
4- I don't mind if it's me you need to turn to
(does it mean "I don't mind if you resorted to me to help you to move on"?) You understand it correctly. It basically means that you can get helped from the person if it becomes necessary.
5- It's the "heart" that really matters. It means love that you give for one another.
("heart" here means "intention"? or "kindness of heart" or what?)
