Default differences between DISTINGUISHED, DISTINGUISHABLE, DISTINCT, DISTINCTIVE

could anybody plz tell me the differences between DISTINGUISHING, DISTINGUISHABLE, DISTINCT, DISTINCTIVE and DISTINGUISHED?
In this question, I don't know how to distinguish them:

    1. His speech was careful and ..but his word seemed to make no sense.
    A distinguished B distinct C distinctive D distinguishable

Could you post the definition of each word that you think could work in this sentence.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

Can we just verify that you meant to write '...but his words seemed to make no sense'?
