- For Teachers
good evening sir,
it is satya,
here is some question about adjective.
1. He is thief.
2. They are farmer.
3. he is mechanic.
would you explain me that Adjectives after auxiliary verb belong to what type of adjective.what do they modify to pronoun.
NOT A TEACHER
1. He (pronoun) + is (linking verb) + a (adjective/determiner) + horrible (adjective) + thief (noun).
We say that "a horrible thief" refers to the subject "He."
"is" links "He" and "a horrible thief."
Some languages do not have linking verbs.
They just say:
He a horrible thief. (He = a horrible thief)
2. They + are + hardworking + farmers.
(They = hardworking farmers.)
3. He + is + an + honest + mechanic.
(He = an honest mechanic.)
The above is only my opinion.
