    Question tow away zone

    Hi,

I'm trying to find whether there is a special word for a kind of vehicle.

If your car breaks down while on your way somewhere you might have to have your car towed to a garage, in which case a breakdown truck would do the job.

But, what if your car is parked where it shouldn't and the authorities decide to remove it? Is the vehicle doing the job a breakdown truck or is there a different name? (My question arises from the fact that the car is not broken down, it's just improperly parked!)

Tow truck - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A tow truck (also called a wrecker, a breakdown truck, recovery truck or a breakdown lorry) is a vehicle used to transport motor vehicles to another location (generally a repair garage), or to recover vehicles which are no longer on a drivable surface.
