Could you please tell me which is used when I want to talk about the circle which has been drawn on the paper? The circle on the drawing or The circle in the drawing? Is it the same to picture, image ...?

"The circle on the drawing" means a circle has been drawn on an existing drawing of something else.
"The circle in the drawing" means that the circle is part of an existing drawing.
"The circle drawn on the paper" means what it says.
