Default I feel flushed with warmth?

He is trying to conquer Mt.Everest, and Is "feel flushed with warmth" "your faced is blushing in red" or "yourself flooded by or full of warmth inside"?

ex) I started my long journey with great enthusiasm. The thought of conquering the mountain stirs me with anticipation. Although the freezaing wind pounds upon me, I feel flushed with warmth.....

Even though it's cold outside, he feels 'warm inside' i.e. filled with joy, excited etc. 'Flushed' suggests that those feelings, quite powerful too, came upon him suddenly or have taken over completely.
