    "If your ex-boyfriend often disgraces you in front of other people, so you don't necessary treat him gently. You should use violence with him."

    Does this sentence have a conversational tone?

    More conversational might be:

    If your boyfriend shows you up/lets you down in public, don't stand for it; slap the b******d.
