    go to commiserate

    Hi

A certain woman came back from a hospital where her ill son was. She came back home alone so people thought that her son died.

They were also sure that the only decent thing to
do was to wait a few minutes while she broke the news to
her husband and then go to commiserate – and learn the details.

Does it mean go to her house, express their sympathy and learn the details?
