Would you please tell me what the words for chapters and the parts in a chapter of the bible or Qur'an are called in English?

In the Bible, they are called "Books".

    In the Book of Genesis...
    In the Book of Exodus...

The Quran is divided into Sura, or chapters. Each chapter is made of of a number of ayah, or verses.

Hence the idiom 'chapter and verse' - meaning textual citation/accurate quotation - not necessarily biblical. Example: 'I wanted to know exactly what I could claim, and they gave me chapter and verse.'
