    A sentence

    Hello,

I was wondering if the use of 'slander' is correct in this sentence?

From what I read in translation in the comment section below there is much slander of her vocal abilities.

The dictionary says that it refers to a spoken statement intended to damage good opinion people have of somebody. In this sentence it is a written statement. Is it correct?

    Thanks

    Re: A sentence

I'm not a lawyer but according to my dictionary slander relates, as you say,
    to a spoken statement.

Have look in your dictionary for the word libel.

libel refers to an injurious statement written or spoken.

Sondra, please relate your thread titles to your question.

A better title for this one would have been There is much slander of her vocal abilities.
