In Annie Proulx's Brokeback Mountain,I read the following line, 'Fridays twelve noon be down at the bridge with your next week list and mules.' What is the meaning of the sentence?
Are you sure you copied it correctly?
It is presumably a message left for somebody. If so, in full it would probably read:
'At (twelve) noon on Friday, be (down) at the bridge with your list (of the supplies you need) and the mules.'
