    Help me with this phrase

    Would you pls explain the phrase " ripples in the pond" for me?

    Ripples are marks on water which appear when you stir it up, e.g. with a stone Ripples can be also brought about by wind or a motor boat
    So ripples in the pond mean that water in the pond was not calm, i.e. it rippled.
