We are born as human beings.

We are born as human beings.

Is the sentence correct to mean that our parents give birth to us and that why we are human beings?

    Thanks.

Thanks, Gillnetter, for pointing out the mistake that it should be mother and not parents.

To me, "We are born as human beings," almost makes me expect something like, "but we grow up to become xxxxx beings", whatever xxxxx might be.

Offtopic here: 5jdjon, Can 'to me' be replaced with 'for me' without any lack of the meaning in your reply?
