    crash and burn?

Mel drifted apart with her old friend Alexis as she revealed her secret ability making her a laughingstock, so she says what happened between them was like "crash and burn" and it's translated as "big fight", but what does it exactly mean?

    -ghost whis.
andrea- She is really trying to reach out to you.
I don't know why you guys drifted apart,but...
Mel- Ok,I lied.We didn't drift. It was more like crash and burn.

When they broke up, it was more like an airplane crash than just drifting apart. Or imagine anything crashing and burning - that was how they broke up. Not literally though. They weren't literally separated by a car crash. But it probably felt a bit that way.

A very bad situation, I guess, so, which do you think is better "a big fight" or "a very bad screwed-up relationship"?
