    Shall I use passive? I'm writting about the efeect of TV on people.

    People are become/ gotten out of touch with reality.

    People are becoming out of touch ...
    They are getting out of touch...
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
