There is no special type of gun needed to shoot hollow-points. Generally, one can describe a pistol by how many rounds can be loaded into the magazine.
So "a pistol with a ten-round magazine" is fine. (Magazines are not technically the same as clips, though people commonly refer to them the same.)
In firearm talk, you often see a pistol referred to as 10+1 capacity, meaning ten rounds in the magazine and 1 in the chamber of the gun.
