    close range

    Dear all,

    what is the meaning of "close range" in the following context:

    [Shot by a 9 mm, two in the back, one in the head close range]

    NOT A TEACHER

    It means the shots were fired at (from?) short distance.

    If someone was shot at close range, then the gun was very close to them when it was fired.
    If someone was shot at point-blank range, then the gun was actually touching their skin when it was fired.

    Either way, that's gonna hurt!

    so "at close range" here is not specified to "head". It's a general reference to the whole shooting (either "back" or "head"... both were at close range" right?

    You can be shot in the leg at close range. It means what the posters above said.
