    Default reflect

    Dear teachers,

    Would you be kind enough to give me your considered opinion concerning the interpretation of the verb in bold in the following sentence?

    I must reflect upon what answer to give.

    reflect = to think seriously

    Hmmm, I find that a rather odd sentence. I would generally say that we reflect upon things that we have already done, or simply to think about life in general.

    Now that the end of the year is approaching, it's time to reflect [up]on the past year.
    In my yoga class, we do 45 minutes' yoga then we have 15 minutes at the end to just relax and reflect.

    Hi emsr2d2,

    Thank you for your detail explanation. I agree with your correction.

    Thank you for your empathy.

    I was afraid I could lose my confidence in humanity nature in last time but now I’m sure I shouldn’t give up all hope. Hope springs eternal.

    Thank you again for your kindness.

    V.

    You're welcome. I'm not sure what happened last time to make you doubt the site but I'm glad your faith is restored!
