    Default paraphrasing of one sentence

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to help to me to understand the meaning of the sentence in italic below?

What do people usually feel if the beauty of picture made them gaze at it?

Would you look on me with a favorable eye in order to make a paraphrasing of the sentence in question?

    V.

What emotion does a beautiful picture evoke that makes people stare at it for a long time?

    Hi emsr2d2,

Thank you again for your assistance.

I see what you mean. Come to that, now I understand that “make’ is make someone do something”, “cause someone to do something”.

Thank you for your kind thought of me.

Yes, in this context "to make" is "to cause" or even "to force" someone to do something.
