    Default turning out for

    They are talking about a boxing match and Teo is the boxer, They raised money for the firehouse by selling tickets for the match.
    and what is "turn out for"? Is it "show up" or "supporting him"?

    Jim- So far, we've raised 5 grand for the firehouse, and with this fight...

    "Turning out" means "showing up" but in this particular sentence, the fact that they said "turning out for Teo" would also make it clear that they are going to show up in order to support him.
