Could you please correct my answers?
This was my last grammar exam, perhaps I may not validate it, because I did not have enough time to concentrate very well as I had to make an analyze about pride and prejudice, so I want to know my mistakes to avoid falling in the same next exam.

Sean Carlton and his wife Sharon built the Rosemary Hills train station in 1984. The Carltons imported red brick
from England for the construction of the waiting room. In 1986, the President himself opened the station. That
year, a steam locomotive visited Rosemary Hills for the first time. It was pumping clouds of white smoke, and all
the townspeople could hear it /I think there is a mistake here/ whistling loudly.
In 1984 the Rosemary Hills train station was built by Sean Carlton and his wife Sharon. Red brick was imported from England by the Carltons for the construction of the waiting room . In 1986, the station was opened by the President himself, that year, Rosemary Hills was visited by a steam locomotive for the first time. Clouds of white smoke were being pumped, its whistling loudly could be heard by all the townspeople.

I didn’t find another way to express request by using modals!!
