    Nutrient/ nutition/ nourishment

    I'm completely confused. Could you please help me to learn the differences between these words. It's like I'm hitting a brick wall.

    Plants obsorb nutrients from the soil.
    Plants get their nutrition from the host.
    Plants get their nourishment/ nutriment from other plants.

    Nutrients are the individual chemicals and compounds, and the others basically are considering all the components together IMO. BTW nutriment is not in common usage, in BrE at least.
