    Default Hurricane Rita

    How should "Rita" ( in Hurricane Rita) be pronounced? When reading the news, the British pronounce it as "Ree-ta" while the Americans pronounce it "Ree-da".

    That's correct. The D in Rita pronounced by most of the Americans is not a D, but a flap (tap). Like in "city".
