Default Determine the verbs and the subjects

    Hi,

Can you please determine the verbs and subjects in the sentences below.

    1. If all is lost, why am I still playing?
    2. Around every cloud is a silver lining.

This may seem a little easy but I want to be sure. Thank you in advance.

Please make your attempt to answer this question first.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

    Here's my answer:

    1. If all is lost, why am I still playing? - all and I are the subjects and am playing and is are the verbs
    2. Around every cloud is a silver lining.- Is is the verb and lining is the subject
