    "Applying sound techniques". What does it mean by "sound technique" in a phrase?

    What's the full context? Sound here could mean reliable, effective, etc.

    Planning a stage concert? Tdol is trying to get more context to differentiate the meaning of "sound", and possibly "technique".
    Why not give a full sentence? Or give an explanation of the context in which you've come across the term.
