    Cool I find it strange

    Hello,

In this sentence, are we supposed to use "that" or "it", please? :

" Some people like killing animals. I really find it strange. "

    Thank you

    Will

Either is possible in that sentence, though I prefer 'that'. In the following, only 'it' is possible after 'find':

I find it strange that some people like killing animals.

And unfortunate readers (of writers who think abstraction makes them look clever despite the impaired communication that results) may see the 'it' expanded into a noun phrase:

I find some people's enjoyment of killing animals strange.

This is heinous* 'writing' in my view, but stuff like that happens.

PS Apologies for the hyperbole () - I just feel quite strongly about this sort of thing. I might have said 'execrable' or 'lamentable' or 'atrocious' or 'grievous' or ,,, Do I make myself clear?

I think so. May I infer that you don't like it?
