    Default in the area of

    Is this sentence correct:
1-They are carrying out psychological tests in the area of understanding other people's feelings.

The tests are about the way people understand other people's feelings.

Yes, it is correct, but you don't need 1 when there's no 2.

    Thanks Rover.

    Good point!

    But:
1-If someone else proposes an alternative, he or she can assign the numebr "2" to his or her sentence and refer to my sentence as "1" and to his or her sentence as "2".
2-If in a follow-up question in this thread I invent another sentence, I can assign the number "2" to it.
3-And then, there is the fact that numbers have never hurt anyone. Ask any cat!
3-And then there is the fact that...

OK. OK. OK. I made a mistake. But is this the first time?....

    Gratefully
    Navi.

5- I am not too sure about the phrase in the area of. It's correct, but I am not sure whether it is an understood area of study- it seems a bit vague to be called that.
