    The drives to the revolution

Please, check if the following passage is grammatically correct. Thanks!

**This is a translated passage. It is neither intended to express a political opinion nor start a political discussion. I'm just interested in the language. **

The mounting strain in the capital has many and diverse reasons: First, the drives to the January 2011s' revolution were, among other things, poverty, unemployment, misery and inability to make a living which are the common troubles of millions of citizens. Frustration and absence of any hope for a better future, prompted millions of citizens to take to the streets in the hope to improve their situation.

Either add a comma after 'frustration' or have no commas at all in that sentence.
I prefer 'driving forces' to 'drives'
