    Lightbulb researchers!

    Hi,

I am tired of my limited vocabulary. I keep on saying 'researchers' when I mentioned people who wrote a paper or did some studies in certain area. Is there any other sayings on 'researchers'? I couldn't find a proper replacement.

    Thanks!

    poor Joe

    Hello Ion Joe,

Well, it would depend on what area of research to which you are referring. Scientists do research papers on their work. Doctoral students do research papers on their thesis as do students seeking a master's degree. Synonyms are necessarily subject oriented. Perhaps if you could give a little more information on who is doing what type of research, we could help you find a suitable synonym or a better way to phrase your sentence.

Don't worry, even we native English speakers still fight redundancy when writing papers ourselves!!

    Hi,

I meant the professionals who did some studies in economic or financial areas and wrote papers on certain topics.

    Thanks for your help!

    Joe

If you want a bit of variety, use 'authors'.

It can be perhaps said analysts if you speak about economics and finance, or investigators. If they are involved in profound studies, they can be called scientists or scholars.
You can also substitute researchers with the subject-related synonims, as SweetMommaSue (a nice nickname suggested, just using *an economist*, *a finance expert* etc. instead of a general word researcher.
