    the milk of human kindness

    Dear teachers,

    Would you be kind enough to give me your considered opinion concerning the interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentences?

    Yet do I fear thy nature;
    It is too full of the milk of human kindness
    To catch the nearest way; thou wouldst be great; (Shakespeare, “Lady Macbeth”)

    the milk of human kindness = human weakness, sympathy
